Dr. Wuertz is a native of San Antonio, Texas, and completed her Doctorate in 1992 from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio. She specialized in Hospital Dentistry at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and earned a General Practice Residency Certificate.

Dr. Wuertz has made it her mission to be on the cutting edge of dentistry and all the newest options available. With over 31 years of private practice clinical experience, she is passionate when sharing her knowledge in the fields of Dental Sleep Medicine, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD), Oral Restrictions, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, and Laser Surgery. Her professional accomplishments include Diplomate Status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine & American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Laser Surgery, a fellowship in the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and a fellowship in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.
She is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry in Houston and maintains memberships with the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. She serves as faculty with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Mastery Program, and on various committees related to TMD and Sleep. She is a member of her church Praise & Worship Band.

She has been married to her Husband Jeff of 31 years and has four grown children Nathan, Joshua, Jason, and Danielle. She remains active in cycling, hiking, and weightlifting.
